Our story
Three generations, one recipe book.
Sapore began in 1998 when Nonna Lucia traded her kitchen in Bologna for a small storefront downtown. Today her grandchildren run the pass, still using her handwritten recipes and the same copper pots.
Everything is made in-house, from the morning pasta to the evening gelato. We source from local farms and import only what Italy does best — San Marzano tomatoes, 00 flour, and a wine cellar that would make any Roman proud.
Our dining room was designed to feel like a Sunday lunch at someone's home: unhurried, warm, and always a little too full. We wouldn't have it any other way.

How we cook
What we stand for
Seasonal & local
We change the menu each month to follow what's best right now, sourcing from farmers within 100 miles wherever possible.
Made from scratch
No shortcuts: every pasta, sauce, bread, and dessert is prepared in our kitchen the morning it's served.
Family owned
Three generations of the Rossi family have kept Sapore independent — and intend to keep it that way.
The people behind the food
Meet the team
Marco Rossi
Head Chef & Co-owner
Marco trained under his grandmother Lucia and later at Osteria Francescana before returning home to carry the family torch.
Elena Rossi
Pastry Chef & Co-owner
Elena's dolci are the reason half our guests stay for dessert. Her tiramisù has been unchanged — and unmatchable — since 2001.
Luca Mancini
Sommelier
Luca curates our 120+ bottle Italian wine list, sourcing directly from small-production estates most menus never see.
